NATIONAL TRUCK-IN BOARD MINUTES FOR THE MEETING July 2005

 

Attending were Desperado, Coop, Rascal, Wacko, Dave, Ma, Charlotte, Don, Lew, Judith, Tom, Tim, Doc, Geoff, Howard, Joe

A motion was made by Howard to dispense the reading of the minutes, seconded by Wacko. Motion carried.

 

An incident (someone using our logo without permission) was discussed. We need to police our trademark. Judith read a letter from Lynn to wit:

Any product sold or given away that has National Truck-in® and/or The Van Nationals® and/or The Nation's Premier Van Event®, used in any way on it, must be approved by the Host organization and the National Truck-in Board®. The producer/creator of the product will not be allowed to sell, distribute or even give away the product. If there is unauthorized merchandise, the seller will forfeit the right to sell, distribute or give away anything. The seller will be removed from the National Truck-in® all merchandise will be confiscated, and no refund will be given.

There was discussion on copywriting Van Nats. Howard made the motion to apply for it, seconded by Coop. Motion carried.

 

Joe brought up the Nationals artwork needs to be standardized. Dash plaques should be brass with three colors. T-Shirts should be printed with three colors or only on white. Details are to be put into the contract or the "how to book".

 

Rascal brought up that motorcycles should be able to drive in or out of the Nationals if they bring them to the Nationals but not rev-up.

 

There was discussion on the Best of Show trophy. Joe needs tenth and fourteenth for the Best of Show trophy. He is still looking for information.

 

Don brought up the Nationals in the middle of the week. All the for and against were discussed. Subject dropped.

 

There was discussion on Bryan Bowie doing the A-100 show at the Virginia Nats. He wants to work with us.

 

Coop discussed Show and Shine at Virginia outside the grounds and having a car show also. Coop does not like Show and Shine on Friday. There was discussion on Classification and Van Show in Virginia Saturday 9:00 a.m.

 

Howard brought up Danny Thomas had open heart surgery. So, someone needs to take over the Vanners' Memorial for the time being. Need new person to do update. Pam will do the update         11632 Flamingo Drive, Garden Grove, CA 92841.

Charlotte made Motion to let Tom take it back to California for the Council of Council and then bring it to Virginia, seconded by Howard. Motion, carried.


Coop made the motion to move Don Noon in the full rep position, seconded by Howard. Motion carried.

 

There was a vote on alternates. Tim will be Coop's alternate and Chooie will be Charlotte's alternate.

 

Pam reported to the board on preparation for Virginia Nats.

Discussion was held on having a carnival. There were no objections if it was outside the gate.

Discussion was held on having a separate class for trailered vans. She reported that there were sixty pre-entries so far.

Flyers for next year were great but did not have enough with her to go around. Check 2064 was given to Pam for Geoff's $45.00 entry into VA Nats.

 

Report from Pennsylvania        .

Dimples had a lot of request for golf carts. Insurance on golf carts a must and lights. Judith to add to "how to book".

Discuss roping off spaces. Some people are arriving before the host and setting up and taking up too much space. Virginia will have no early arrivals. Need to add to "how to book". Advertising in Truck-in magazine was wrong in the four ads.

Discussion was held on having a National Vanner registration card. Bring up at the Council of Council and add to "how to book".

Water electric and sewage.

First Aid. Get a list of EMT’s and see who will be willing to help.

 

Discussion on all things good about this Nats. There were 131 in the Show and Shine and 647 through the gates.

 

Discussion on the 2007 Nationals.

NY cost: $8.50 to $9.00 per van per week. Vendors pay an additional fee. No money up front. Vanner's night in.

Knighty would help with vendors. Donnie will call the Indiana.

Desperado will check KY.

Coop will check with RV about a price. His grounds price is half the gate fee. He will also check the grounds he uses in OH.

Butler Yorko and Rich will be contacted about the price etc.

 

All information to be handed in by October 1 so we can decide what to do before we get to council.
